Amounts are the lowest fixed tier in each rule; most states scale them by depth or number of wells, shown under Schedule. A dash means the rule sets no flat amount (for example it is per foot) or none was confirmed. Rules change: check the current text before relying on a figure. States whose rules we could only confirm from secondary summaries, and states with no oil and gas program, are left out. Plugging cost is shown only for states with a reliable statewide estimate. Check a bond against the estimated plugging cost.
